Associate positioned lift for a battery change. As the battery changer was moving forward toward the lift the associate reached around the right side of the lift in the path of travel to remove the battery cable from the battery. The battery changer operator could not see the associate and struck and pinned the associate between the changer and the lift.

[REDACTED] was getting a battery changed as the operator completed removing his battery plate he exited the battery machine track and the battery machine operator saw [REDACTED] exit the track and then moved forward to get a new battery. [REDACTED] then remembered that he didnt unplug the battery cord and proceeded to enter the battery machine track and as he was unpluging the cable the battery machine operator came down and [REDACTED] was pinned between the forklift and the battery machine.
