What happened
While Peming doors the EE switched from a smaller hammer to a larger steel mallet and used a slimmer insertion tool with a damaged mushroom head. Due to the defect the mallet did not make proper contact with the tool causing the EEs hand to be struck instead. The EE experienced immediate swelling and deep bruising and was placed on restricted duty with no use of the injured hand.
