Before the incident
Worker was sitting on her leg on wet concrete with her chemical suit duct taped to her rubber boot to access the flange bolts.
What happened
Crew was permitted and tasked to install multiple blinds on [REDACTED] nozzles for cleaning. The crew installed the first two blinds by unbolting the flange using wrenches. The next two flange 's bolts were corroded and needed to be removed by means of cutting. The crew utilized a reciprocating saw to cut the bolts. The flanges were located near the ground. The injured employee lowered herself to reach the bolts by laying her lower left leg flat on the concrete and sitting on her leg. The IE states that she completed one flange and then installed the blind and one gasket on the final flange when the bottle watch attendant notified the crew that their air supply was low and needed to be swapped out. The IE was deconned and stripped of the acid suit. Once the acid suit was removed the IE noticed her jean leg on her calf was wet and dirty. She notified her foreman and washed her leg in the unit safety shower and reporting to site medical for evaluation.
