Before the incident
Employee was crossing PQE deck to return to work area.
What happened
The injured employee was working at the 152 [REDACTED] on the south side of the [REDACTED] deck cold cutting piping. Other employees were flying piping down on the west side of unit and had the permanent walkway blocked. The employee stepped over temporary furnace tube supports to get to the water cooler. Once he got to the cooler he removed his gloves and grabbed a bottle of water and proceeded to step back across the supports with his glove off. His right foot then slipped off an angle iron support brace causing him to fall forward. As he attempted to catch himself his right hand made contact with the grating resulting in a laceration to the palm of his right hand.
