EE was assigned to duties at the [REDACTED] during a day of consistent rainfall resulting in wet and slick surfaces across the area While attempting to access the [REDACTED] [REDACTED] deck ramp EE approached from the side and attempted to step directly onto the ramp surface from ground level The step required was approximately two feet in height EE led with his left leg placing his foot on the painted red safety line that designates the edges and dropoff zones along the sides of the ramp Due to the rain this painted line was slick and [REDACTED] foot lost traction as weight was applied EE subsequently lost balance and fell from the ramp during the stepup motion During the fall [REDACTED] right shin struck a hex bolt fixed to the ramp structure This impact caused a laceration across the shin EE was taken to Breckenridge Medical Center BMC for assessment Following initial evaluation EE was referred to St Anthonys Medical Center
