Employee stated both prior to and during the incident investigation that he and his partner were welding [REDACTED] uprights at welding station #5 on [REDACTED]. No timeframe was provided as to when the employee initially felt pain in his lower back only that he began to feel dull pain throughout the day. The employee did not report the pain initially on [REDACTED] and went home for the remainder of the weekend ([REDACTED]). When he returned to work on [REDACTED] the employee stated that he did not have any pain when beginning his work shift however as he continued to work his back started hurting again. The employee made the decision to go home early on [REDACTED]. When he returned on [REDACTED] he reported the situation to his supervisor who then started the workers compensation process.
