Before the incident
Removing ducks from the scalding tank to getting ready to start the sanitation process.
What happened
Team member was getting ready to remove a duck from one of the scalding tanks. He picked up the special hook designed for retrieving ducks that sometimes get stuck in the scalders. As he inserted the hook the duck became entangled and when he pulled it out the duck broke in half. Despite the reduced weight the force of the pull was strong causing him to hit his right elbow. The impact resulted in a cut on his elbow.
