Before the incident
Crew was working inside of excavation pit and setting rebar
What happened
EE was tasked with moving small bundles of rebar over to an area designated to tie them together only a few feet away. EE bent over and grabbed six bars at a time. It was #5 rebar 9 feet in length and weighed around 20 lbs. as a bundle of six. EE bent over and lifted the rebar rounding out his back. He carried it over to the area designated to tie them and bent over again to set the rebar down. When EE bent over to set them down he felt a sharp pain in his lower right side back. As EE stood back up straight the pain worsened. EE reported his injury immediately to his supervisor (ES1). ES1 then reported to another crew lead on site (ES2) who then reported to Safety.
