Maintenance Technician was in the process of removing a motor The technician was using a ratchet and socket to loosen a bolt that had been tightly secured As force was applied the bolt suddenly broke loose causing the ratchet to move quickly This resulted in the technicians right thumb striking a piece of 1 8inch steel plate leading to a laceration between the first and second knuckles
