Cleaning out left over [REDACTED] from the hopper of the machine.

Worker was cleaning out leftover asphalt from the back of the paving hopper. During the task his foot positioned near the rear section of the hopper where a long metal flap operates as part of the opening and closing mechanism. The hopper was in the closed position while in the process of cleaning another individual unaware that he had not yet finished; activated the hopper. This caused the metal flap to fall; striking and crushing Mr. [REDACTED] right foot.
