Before the incident
While attempting to offload the ROFU cot from REACT helicopter the legs of the cot did not lock causing me to hurt my back. Myself and my partner were both on the exterior of the helicopter and using our 2 person offloading method. The cot legs dropped as normal operation and made a lock sound but when the cot was set to the ground the legs collapsed. I caught the weight of the stretcher and was able to lift the cot up and manually force the legs to lock again.
