Before the incident
I went to draw a pt on [REDACTED] at [REDACTED]. Pt was very restless and would jerk arm back to about getting labs drawn. Pt was not alert and oriented and was stressed. I asked RN to help hold down pts arm down in order to draw blood cultures. RN let go of pt as I was ready to pull the needle out and pt jerked arm back causing needle to come out and puncture my left index finger. I immediately squeezed my finger to flush blood out and washed my hands. Once done I came down to ED to get checked out.
