Wrestled a loaded gun away from a prisoner patient that assaulted jailer and took his weapon.
What happened
I sandwiched the patient 's handgun between my hands and pinned it to the bed in the room. He started pulling the trigger and shot 2 rounds through the wall before I was able to get the gun out of his hand. I didn 't notice my thumb hurting until the next day probably because the massive adrenaline rush I was experiencing at the time. CG REPORTS INJURY TO LEFT THUMB AND INJURY TO LEFT EAR.
