RN WAS ATTEMPTING TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE PAD UNDERNEATH PT AND WAS STUCK IN THE LITTLE FINGER OF THE LEFT HAND BY A BLUNT TIP NEEDLE ADAPTOR. RN WAS WEARING GLOVES AT THE TIME. IMMEDIALTELY REMOVED GLOVES. WASHED HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER. CLEANED AREA WITH ALCOHOL PADS. NOTIFIED EH AND COMPLETED BLOOD WORK AS DIRECTED BY POST EXPOSURE PROTOCOL. PT AND WIFE WERE INFORMED AND WERE COOPERATIVE.
