What happened
The [REDACTED] IV tubing was hooked up to a pressure bag as part of the normal ACLS resuscitation procedure. The superior connection of the pump segment of the IV tubing failed and disconnected. This resulted in blood spraying everyone in proximity. Blood hit bilateral upper extremities torso hair legs feet of this RN. Direct skin contact as it soaked through clothing. Blood has been drawn from this RN and sent to lab per protocol.
