Assisting patient into a seated position at the edge of the bed from a lying positon in bed
What happened
Patient is 6 '3 350 pounds. We were attempting to turn the patient sideways in bed and then into a seated positon edge of bed. The patient began thrashing around and trying to pull the turn sheet out from under himself expressing his anger with the use of it and us always yanking on it I was supporting the patient from behind with the turn sheet as he was neither lying or seated at that time. The RN was in front of the patient and unable to assist as the patient was kicking his legsaround. After incident I felt sore in the back upper thoracic cervical area.
