What happened
While I was collecting the patients ' blood the patient began drooping their arm because they did not have the strengthenergy to hold it in the position I had placed their arm in. I moved with their arm to avoid the needle falling out this led me to be in an awkward position. I finished collecting the patients ' blood and proceeded to remove the needle. Due to the awkward position I was in I had grabbed the needle in an awkward way as well. A way that didn 't allow me to initiate the safety immediately. I had to readjust how I was holding the needle in order to safety it. I tried to move my index finger to the opposite side of the needle and accidentally brushed my finger on the tip of the needle.
