triaging and helping patient to get into change out room

What happened

Patient came in with her son. We watched her go right in to the adult waiting room. Her son followed her then saw her attacking her son. When we got up there she was crouched down and said she wanted [REDACTED] to help her up. Patient was then agreeable to go to the triage room. She did slam the separation door from the waiting room on the way because she did not want people to see her. The patient then went on to the triage room and was explained what she was going to do. She was compliant but then she turned around and pushed into me once she was in the change out room. Before I had a chance to do anything she began punching me in the face and then grabbed my neck. The patient would not stop even though we were asking her to. Patient was asked to change into scrubs. Patient went to go into the room to change and she turned and started pushing into this writer. The patient then grabbed staff in the neck and scratched my neck. Staff tried to get the patient to stop but she would not. T
