Associate (facilities department plumber) experienced pain in shoulder beginning during summer of [REDACTED]. He attributes this to a project installing a 3 threaded line that will join the Fab and Lubin compressed air systems. Work involved lifting and threading steel pipe tightening with wrenches etc. Efforts to work safely and ergonomically were made such as: using a fork lift to hold pipe up at ceiling level application of pipe compound to both male and female fittings and use of a compound action wrench that requires less force that traditional pipe wrench. Associate did not not reported shoulder discomfort to supervisor until [REDACTED] and met with on-site physical therapist on [REDACTED].
