What happened
Employee was holding a piece of tube steel to be set into place on the East side roof of [REDACTED]. His work partner was striking the tube steel into position with the use of his sledgehammer so that he could put a bolt into the connection point. During the erection process the injured employee slid his left hand up the tube steel into the striking zone without communicating to his partner which resulted in his left index finger to be struck by the sledgehammer.
