The employee was coming back from his break to perform set-up on the grinder. They were placing a part directly into the feed rollers rather than using the bridge to insert the part.

When the employee manually inserted the part into the feed rollers they got their finger caught between the part and the feed rollers.

The employee received injury to the tip of their ring finger and middle finger on their left hand. The nail and a portion of the fingertip were removed in the incident. Avulsion of the fingertip and minor amputation to the portion of the fingertip.
