What happened
Was drawing blood on patient. When removing needle poked my own finger. Spoke with EE area was cleansed per protocol and source labs drawn. EE advised he is not UTD with Tdap. EE denied the need for any further exposure counseling education at this time. EE states he poked his right index fingertip during activation of butterfly needle safety. EE states he used his thumb and middle finger instead of index finger to activate safety thus causing the needlestick.
