Per MSF- [REDACTED] WAS ATTEMPTING TO SEARCH FOR A MISSING SUTURE AND WAS USING A SCISSOR TO LOOK BEHIND THE FOAM ON THE NEEDLE BOX (A PROLENE STRING WAS STUCK BEHIND THE FOAM AND WASN 'T SURE IF IT BECAME STUCK BEHIND THE FOAM). THE FOAM WAS STUCK SNUGLY TO THE BOX AND WAS UNABLE TO BE LIFTED WITH HER FINGERTIPS. THE SCISSOR SLIPPED AND ENDED UP PUNCTURING [REDACTED] 'S RIGHT THUMB. SHE WENT TO SINK AND SCRUBBED WOUND AND ALSO CLEANSED WITH BETADINE SOLUTION. LAB WORK DRAWN FROM PATIENT AND SENT TO LAB. [REDACTED] IN LAB NOTIFIED THAT SPECIMENS WERE SENT.
