Employee was performing normal work tasks on the Double Door line attaching cove molding onto the site lite of a door. Employees must use a pneumatic [REDACTED] to attach the cove molding properly.

The employee was using a pneumatic [REDACTED] nailer to attach cove molding onto the site lite of a door. EE had to apply more pressure than normal with the cove molding as it was not fitting into its slot properly. When doing so the employee had to position themselves awkwardly and stated they had to quickly fire when they finally got the cove molding into proper position. When they shot the nailer simultaneously slipped off the cove molding and came into contact with their left hand (thumb) where a nail punctured it. The employee immediately reported this to the nearest supervisor who instructed them to seek professional medical attention.
