Employee was functioning as the hole attendant for a tank cleaning job and holding a plastic cover over the tank manway to prevent the free-flowing waste water from splashing out of the tank while the entrant was pressure washing the floor of the tank

What happened

The employee was standing directly in front of the manway holding the plastic cover when he was hit on the right-side of his face and inside his month with water from the pressure washer. It knocked him back and knocked his face shield to the top of his head. He suddenly felt pain across his face and ear and noticed blood in his hands and on his suit. The etrant was suppose to be washing the floor but noticed some spots around the manway and decided to hit them with the pressure washer. He was unaware of the employee 's position.
