Setting up to fill gearbox with oil

A Maintenance Mechanic was putting oil into a gearbox for press 17A. He and another mechanic were standing on a set of mobile stairs attempting to adjust the 55 gallon barrel of oil to line up the spicket to fill the gearbox They were twisting and turning the barrel as it hung from the hoist that was being held in the air by forklift. They loosened the clip so it could move freely. As they began to twist it again the barrel slipped out of the hoist and fell to the ground and it took the person holding it with them and he fell striking his head on the frame causing a laceration requiring stitches.
