What happened
Employee was assisting a wheelchair bound passenger onto the bus using the electric lift feature. The wheelchair become stuck on the lift. The employee attempted to lift and move the wheelchair using incorrect lifting technique when she heard and felt a pop in her right hip low back area.
Injury or illness
No injury was found in the emergency room. Physician ordered pain medication muscle relaxer and acetaminophen and recommended employee be off work for six days to monitor pain and injury.
