What happened

On [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] the employee was hit in the face by the palletizing robot on the Air Line. Earlier in the shift Maintenance was called to fix the palletizing robot as it had become damaged. During this process both Maintenance and the employee zip-tied the pallet grabbing arms of the robot up and out of the way of the work that needed to be done. These arms are controlled pneumatically. However once the system is turned off like in this case due to Maintenance work the arms slowly lose air pressure over a few minutes and slowly fall open causing them to be in the way. Once the Maintenance work was completed the robot was put back into service however a zip tie holding the arms up was forgotten. This zip tie caused the robot to error as it went to grab a pallet and stopped working. The employee noticed this issue turned off the system and went and cut the zip tie off the arm.
