EE was performing a nerve block. Inserted 21g needle into the patient but was not in the right location. So pulled needle back and while repositioning the needle and using the ultrasound machine punctured right middle finger. EE removed gloves used pressure to stop bleeding and placed alcohol pads on fingers. Donned new gloves and finished the procedure. After procedure was done EE removed gloves and washed hands. Went to ED to get labs drawn. Started PEP therapy. After two doses of PEP stopped taking medication when patient 's [REDACTED] results came back negative.
