Before the incident
Worker was beginning installation of a large steel pin into its’ position on a subframe. He was holding a large steel pin with left hand and swung a 4 lb deadblow hammer with his right hand toward the blunt end of the steel pin to drive it into place.
What happened
The worker neglected to move his left index finger out of the way before he swung the hammer and finger was caught between the end of the pin and the blow of the hammer. Worker did not immediately go to be seen at the company allocated urgent care however did go [REDACTED] after work.

Hairline fracture left index finger middle phalanx.
