What happened
EE was drawing blood from patient using the syringe method with a butterfly needle. EE was finished drawing labs so she pulled the butterfly out and transferred it to her left hand. Pt. jerked and knocked the needle out of EE hand. Butterfly needle was still exposed and pierced the right thumb of EE through gloves.
