What happened
A third-party vendor had been contracted to come on site to roll on paint in the locomotive. They ended up spray painting the locomotive which caused the diesel engine to suck in the paint fumes. When the employee started the locomotive this caused a combustion resulting in the electrical compartment doors to open and strike the employee.
