What happened

Dog Bite. I work in Home Health and the incident occurred in a patient 's home. I arrived at the home at the scheduled time The patient did not have her dogs contained as was the normal expectation procedure. Through the door it was observed the patient w as attempting to contain the dogs and was unable. Pt appeared upset. Patient opened the door to let the dogs outside in the fenced yard rather than contain them in a room. One of the 4 dogs bit my leg as he exited the door. I went inside and the dogs rema ined outside. Patient was notified immediately and she was quite upset. I immediately contacted my supervisor to advise. I was instructed to end the visit call employee health and proceed to urgent care. I was able to safely wait in a gated area of the home while the dogs were called in and exited the home through a different door not accessible to the dogs.
