What happened
Employee states she was helping to position a patient in the OR when her right hand brushed near a sharps box and she was poked by a discarded [REDACTED] introducer on her right hand palm side under her pinky finger drawing blood. [REDACTED] introducer had no t been used on the current patient in the OR but had been sitting for an unknown period of time. Dried blood noted on the needle. Employee was able to wash hands with soap and water after exposure and appropriately disposed of the needle in the needle box . This is NOT a dual.
