IV Arterial Central line placement removal
What happened
Attempted to insert IV catheter on a trauma patient with multiple staff EMS personnel holding patient. After piercing the patient 's skin with the needle the patient recoiled losing the grip staff had on her. The IV was immediately removed from the patie nt 's arm and subsequently poked my right hand.
