I was inside the ambulance in the back garage of the [REDACTED] ( I don 't believe the lights came on) restocking an ambulance that we put out of service earlier in the shift. I entered the open side door and the back doors were already open. I was ste pping out backwards out the open back doors and did not notice that the rear step was up. I fell backwards landing on the concrete floor on my back and struck my head on the closed garage door. I did not loose consciousness.
