Before the incident
Walking out of the patients room after administering insulin
What happened
I was administering insulin using an insulin pen with a needle attached. It seemed as though the insulin did not get into the patient because it was on top of her skin after I took the pen off her abdomen. I left her room to go get another needle to try again and while I was trying to take off a glove from one hand my thumb swiped across the top of the needle and I got stuck.
