Preparing the OR for [REDACTED] [REDACTED] second case.
What happened
I was preparing to get my second room ready and taking out 4 instrument pans that would not be utilized for the case. A heavy instrument pan labeled [REDACTED] [REDACTED] slipped. It caught my thumb when it fell through the ring stand opening. I have a small 3-4 layer deep opening on the medial side of my thumb. The injured thumb looks like a crater and is actively bleeding with the amount of skin that is missing. I have contacted my manager charge nurse head scrub tech circulator and Occupatiol Health regarding the injury.
