While two employees were getting a block set up to be cut on the Big Saw a communication error resulted in one of the employee 's fingers being closed in the saw vice while he was attempting to square the block. The employee was taken to UPMC Jameson where he received stitches in one of his fingers and was treated for a hairline fracture in another finger.
