Before the incident
At around [REDACTED] a Wood Yard employee was attempting to clear a mixture of bark and sticks that had plugged in the debarker chute The employee was using a stick in an attempt to knock the debris out of the chute onto the bark drag chain below During the process of poking the debris out of the chute the stick that the employee was using contacted the drag chain below When the stick that the employee was holding with his right hand contacted the drag chain the stick whipped forward causing the employee to make hand contact with the metal chute causing a laceration to his right middle finger Employee was wearing all required PPE to include gloves at the time of the incident The employee immediately reported the incident to his supervisor and he was transported too Medical After arriving at Medical the employee was seen by the onshift EMT and it was decided that the employee needed to be seen by a higher level of care provider The employee was transported to the [REDACTED] where he was
