Before the incident
The pulper guard to PM3 was up while pushing broke into the pulper from a winder sheet break The employee went into the area to put the guard down when it is believed to have hit the building reel and then struck the employee while returning to the neutral position of the swing radius of the guard There was a loud noise that was not identified and when the employee did not answer his radio the winder operator checked for him and found him at the pulper guard with a laceration to the head The winder operator was able to get the employee to come to and with the help of another operator get him out of the area and to the dry end lab EMS was called for transport for further medical evaluation
