Cleaning 2 pipe for weld to be made using angle grinder with tiger disc.

Employee was struck on top of his right hand with angle grinder while grinding 2 pipe in fab shop area resulting in a laceration to his right pinkie knuckle area. Employee was taken off site to Prime where he received 8 stitches to the wounded area. Employee did have on all of his required PPE including his gloves at the time of incident. Employee was also utilizing two hands as well as safety handle on grinder. The employee lost grip with his right hand which was on the handle when the grinder caught the end of the pipe. Employee returned to work the same day without restriction.
