What happened

Around [REDACTED] AMI cleaned the computer working station and medical equipment in the patient s room using Promedica provided bleach wipes before handing them over to the next shift While cleaningI did not see that the wipes had an excess of indistinct bleachwhich caused me to splash on my forehead and eyes when I closed the lid I attempted to rinse my eyes with cool water in the kitchenbut it didn t help relieve the painful irritation I used some flushes to rinse my eyeswhich provided some reliefbut my eyes were still very irritated and painfuland I couldn t open them fully At that timeeveryone was in the patient s room providing care After a whilesomeone came outnotified the house supervisorattempted to help me wash my eyeshelped me look for the eye wash stationwhich unfortunately was unavailable in the ICUand called the Ouch line Following the Ouch line s adviceI went to the ER for treatment
