What happened
[REDACTED] was working with a fellow operator on the saw machines at the start of the shift. The debris removal drum was full and need to be emptied before any work on the saws began. The drum was heavier than expected and needed to be emptied with two people. Using a locking lever they unhooked the full drum from the bottom of the debris removal machine to dump into the receptacle. When they attempted to lock the drum in place to into the machine [REDACTED] left thumb became pinched in between as he attempted to keep both parts of the machined aligned. He notified he manager and was taken to the hospital immediately.
