[REDACTED] was emptying an almost empty oil barrel to be used on the saw deck

[REDACTED] cut his right thumb on the inside lip ring of an partially emptied oil barrel. He was tasked with transporting the barrel to the saw deck and to empty it so that the remaining oil can be used to operate the saw deck machines. He manually moved the barrel with his hands titling it to get the remaining oil out and to reveal the chemical label for proper identification and storage. The barrel has a sharp inside lip that nests the top lid in place to be fastened. [REDACTED] tried to maintain grip and control of the tilted barrel by bracing with his hands. His thumbs in particular were nestled under the inside sharp lip. This sharp lip broke through his cut resistant gloves and skin. He immediately notified his supervisor and was escorted to urgent care.
