5s and inspecting the area.

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] a Maintenance Technician was walking around equipment #3244 Wheelabrator in Heat Treat. While the employee was walking around the area he was looking for parts on the ground that they could clean up. They saw a pin on the floor. When the employee saw the pin was out of place they wanted to see where it came from. The employee thought it came from the Wheelabrator #3244. To look inside the machine they locked out the electrical LOTO point and put-up red tape around the area. The employee had locked out the electrical portion of the equipment using the lock out point 3244-E1. The employee didn’t lock out the pneumatic line 3244-A1 behind the dust collector. The employee then opened the door of the machine to look inside and saw that the pin was missing from the arm. They wanted to put the pin back in place so they pulled the rod back to replace the pin and the rod came back forward and pinched the pinky finger resulting in injury.
