What happened
While attending a PR ground school at Upstate Medical Center I was instructing personnel on the proper use of the seat belt in the cockpit on the Co-pilot 's side. I was standing on the skid with my right hand holding onto the frame of the helicopter that goes into the aft cabin area. While instructing the aft cabin door was closed with my hand fingers in the jam of the door. We finished the PR and when I got back to KRME my middle finger was completely white and both fingers were in pain. I spoke with the med crew and their thoughts and they advised me to seek medical attention in which I went to Rome Memorial Hospital and was seen be a physician.
