The employee was cleaning the sky jack scissor lift.

On [REDACTED] at [REDACTED] a facility operator reported an incident where he hit his left should on the lift gate of a scissor lift. The employee was helping maintenance clean a sky jack scissor lift near dock door number 1 in the warehouse. As you can see from the photos the lift gates pin needs to be pulled to release the gate to open then the gate will lift up to allow an operator to enter the unit. Once the operator has entered the scissor lift the gate will require to be closed and snapped into place to proceed. In this case the affected employee opened and lifted the sky jack door the employee released the door thinking it will slowly come down. The sky jack door dropped and hit the employee on their left shoulder.
