Employee was servicing the unitizer on the mainline in the Quick Turn department to clear a strapping jam up on head #1.

After several attempts to clear the jam up and make the head functional again he came to the determination that the head needed to be removed and switched out with another head. Employee placed the head in the upright position and disengaged the safety piston to lift the head off of the platen. Employee reached under the head with the safety feature disengaged to pull out strap causing the head to jossle and fall making contact with his left hand resulting in a large cut.
