Before the incident
New-hire employee was wearing required PPE using multiple pneumatic tools to clean castings. Employee was grinding on a casting using a fixed height table vs scissor lift table with a grinding wheel tool.
What happened
While operating the grinding wheel tool one of his two hands used to stabilize the tool lost contact with grinding tool. The activated grinding wheel fell against his R distal thigh immediately lacerating his R thigh. Protective industrial work apron was not positioned to negate tool leg laceration contact.
